Dental Radiations Prevail Over the Risk

Monday, April 29th, 2013

In order to ensure your complete health, you should put great emphasis in your dietary behavior and life patterns. A lot of health issues are based on these aspects. In cases with dental issues, Dr Arthur A. Kezian is great for both diagnosis and treatments. His clinic is full of equipment and facilities that diagnose your problem and help revamp it. On the basis of that diagnosis he can recommend the right treatment and healing method. He focuses on dental x-rays reports for detailed examinations of oral issues. Some of the prominent features of this examination are as follow:

Adequate and Satisfactory Diagnosis:

  • Examination and proper identification of problems is a must before trying to treat that problem. Sometimes teeth seem to be healthy and strong but the roots are so damaged that it could possibly affect the overall health of the body. This could only be found when dental x-rays are taken.
  • X-Rays locate the exact location and position of the problem if it is hidden in your teeth or gums. Sometimes the conditions of teeth get so bad that sever pain starts. It is important to keep up with your routine dental visits to make sure you don’t have cavities that will grow overtime and someday give you severe pain.

Palliative Measures:

  • If proper cleaning and care is not taken for teeth and gums, it results to oral cavities. In turn, these cavities become the major cause of bacterial infections. If these infections are not properly treated they can turn into something very serious. We must avoid unhealthy habits in our lives.
  • For the treatment of such problems, dental radiations are recommended.
  • Big infections are commonly observed in those people who are chain smokers and take frequent or abundant alcoholic drinks. It seriously damages the health of roots, teeth and gums. Proper medication is only suggested by doctor as per the position, condition and stipulation of disease.

Prognosis Leads to Alleviation:

  • Not only in the case of dental health, but in all types of health issues, proper treatment can help minimize the effect of danger. For this, in time diagnosis is must. If oral cancer is diagnosed, then dental radiations are the best suitable option for its treatment.
  • For having the required and relevant information about its treatment, cure and safety, you can seek advice from Dr. Kezian and staff. They can give you relevant and informative data about these radiations and proper application according to the patient’s conditions. You can also contact them online and take suggestions. Undoubtedly, it their website is very helpful and gives guiding principles, course of actions and apposite procedures depending on dental health.
  • In case of infectious oral cavities, radiation therapy is also suggested because of the fact that bacteria grows in billions of amounts and may convert the infection into tumor or cancer. Proper treatments help to minimize the effect of infections and bacterial growth, and dental X-Rays help find these problems.

Recent AHA Research – A Happy Smile is a Happy Heart

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

Gum disease is a form of a bacterial infection which affects the teeth, the bones in the mouth, and the gums; not only is it unsightly but it is thought to affect the heart. For quite some time, there has been a debate in the health community about the relation between diseases in the mouth and heart disease. Some heart experts believe that because of the bacteria in your mouth, you have a higher chance of having a heart attack. However, the American Heart Association has recently announced that studies disprove the theory. As the debate continues, learning to take care of your teeth may keep any possible link from developing. Do not wait until the disease has developed or the AHA has reached its decision; begin to focus on your oral health now.

Dr. Kezian can provide the means to diagnose diseases of the mouth though heart attack may not be associated with them.

AHA Report And Common Mouth Diseases:

Though the heart attack has more to do with your life style according to new AHA research, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care for your mouth. One of the most common oral diseases is Gingivitis. This is the erosion of the tooth due to buildup of acidic features. When the acid erodes the teeth, it can cause pain, swelling, loss of teeth functionality and difficulty chewing. As the teeth are needed for food consumption, this can end up in a horrible mess. The pain is excruciating and only by receiving the proper care and treatment will the teeth be able to be fixed.

Treatment:

  • The treatment will begin by getting rid of all buildup and tarter. This is done at the foundation of the tooth which is where all acidic sediments begin to build.
  • Once that is completed, you will be told of all ways to properly care for your teeth.
  • By using mouth rinses and floss, you can further your chances of not developing a re-occurring case of Gingivitis.
  • Also, Dr. Kezian and staff will fix any teeth that may have had misplaced or broken fillings.

The findings of AHA were also published by NPR. But, certain diseases can give you a higher chance of developing gum disease. The most prevalent disease that can raise your chances of developing any diseases in your gums is diabetes. Also, paying attention to your gums will slow down your risk for heart attacks, dementia, COPD, and even infertility. The reason why these statistics occur are still being studied but it is better safe than sorry when it comes to your health – your mouth is worth being paid attention to.

Bettering Your Gums:

Dr. Kezian will give you particular ways in which you can strengthen and better your gums so that the disease will not occur, or re-occur.

  • He may encourage you to take Mastic Mouthwash which goes to the root of your system, attracts white blood cells and helps fight off plaque. Your teeth will remain healthy, your gums will strengthen, and gingivitis will be completely defeated within your mouth and gums. Your mouth will smell fresh too.
  • Whether you have gingivitis or want to fight against all diseases that are found in the gums, you must make the first steps – thoroughly brush your teeth and have an annual dental appointment. Do not delay in making the appointment; your health is very important. There is a chance that heart disease is linked to the diseases that are found in the gums, and although the American Heart Association debates it, you must not take any chances. Not only is your heart at risk but if you allow mouth diseases to continue, you will have a higher risk for COPD, dementia, and infertility.

Allow Dr. Kezian and staff to help you today and show you the best ways to combat diseases.

Unlocking Fresher Breath

Monday, March 18th, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

Bad breath is something we all want to stray away from. If you have had a history of bad breath, have bad teeth, or just ate something such as garlic or onions, then you will understand the need for fresh breath. Carrying a conversation with family and friends could be difficult and embarrassing, let alone people you are just meeting. After all, first impressions are very important. Your breath is meant to smell good and if you smell good, you will feel better about yourself. Changing your breath can also change your confidence; knowing that your breath smells better you can approach people with ease and be more gregarious.

What Causes Your Breath To Be Bad?

  • There are many reasons for bad breath; however, the four most common reasons are food and drink, tobacco products, lack of oral health, and certain diseases. These include but are not limited to – dry mouth, tooth decay, or gum disease.
  • Plaque and acidic buildup can cause your breath to smell bad; this is why Dr. Kezian recommends routine cleanings. It is important to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Solutions:

  • Dental brushing is by far the most recommended solution. When you brush your teeth, plaque, acid, and other foreign bodies are washed away leaving your mouth cleaner.
  • Dr. Kezian and staff recommend brushing twice a day, three if possible. This will rid your mouth of all harmful particles and give you a sense of cleanliness. Along with brushing though, you also need to floss. Brushing cleans the surface of your teeth (and the edges of your gums if you brush with a 45 degree angle) but you need to make sure the in between areas of your teeth are also clean – flossing.
  • After brushing and flossing, use mouthwash to give you that fresh-breath feeling.
  • You can also find oral care probiotics (oral mints) which support gum and tooth health and freshen breath.

You don’t need to be bothered by your bad breath anymore; you deserve the best for your mouth. If you struggle with bad breath, the best way to alleviate it is by brushing your teeth two to three times a day. You can speak with Dr. Kezian or your local dentist and discuss any questions you have about brushing and bad breath. Remember, not only is bad breath pesky and hard to deal with but it could be a symptom for other diseases. You should pay attention to your breath and try to find out what may be causing it.

If you do all of the aforementioned and your breath continues to be bad, you should talk to the dentist about any medical concerns you may have. Do not be ashamed to talk to your dentist about it.

Consult with Dr. Kezian for more information about dental brushing and alleviating bad breath.

Cosmetic Braces – The Ultimate Solution to Your Smile

Friday, March 1st, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

Dr. Kezian a dental specialist and cosmetic dentist inLos Angeles has the ideal solution to all your teeth problems. A large number of people suffer from an inferiority complex due to the way their teeth look. Things such as buck teeth, crooked teeth, crowded teeth and gaped teeth which prevent them from openly mingling with the crowd in social gatherings or face an Interview board or making new friends. Dr. Kezian and his staff keep themselves updated with the latest advanced technology in cosmetic dentistry in order to help bring a patients smile back.

Some of the Traditional teeth correcting technologies used are braces which are the oldest form and Clear aligners which have been used in the last couple of decades.

Braces:

  • Braces date back  to the 19th century when the first wire was used, which gave birth to contemporary orthodontics. Traditional metal wire braces are made of stainless steel and titanium for people with nickel allergy. The advantage of this technology is that it strengthens the jaws and aligns the teeth. Patients can eat and drink with the braces on.
  • The disadvantage is the discomfort and pain usually experienced by people with braces. Patients need to tighten the braces every six months. The costs incurred from braces is high. The time period for the treatment varies from one to four years depending on the severity of the teeth. Many beauty conscious people had opted for this method because there was no other alternative at that time in the market. Speech is affected in the early stages.
  • Clear Aligners are removable and allow the patient to eat and drink without worry. Clear Aligners are hygienic and allow you to brush and floss in order to keep your smile glistening. It’s important to visit the dentist every four to six      weeks for new impressions. The time period for correcting the teeth is about one year. There is a limited effect on speech.

“Six Month Smiles”

  • The six Month Smiles technique employs the latest technology and techniques in cosmetic dentistry to straighten your teeth. It uses simple orthodontic mechanics, but with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry. It is a Combination of      conventional wire and braces. It gets fixed to your teeth and is practically invisible because the wires are white and the braces are invisible.
  • Since its low force orthodontics it does not cause any discomfort or pain and increases hygiene. The main advantage of this technology is that you need not take it off for eating or brushing and you need to wear it for six months only. However people with severely crooked or crowded teeth cannot opt for this technology.
  • They’re less expensive than traditional dental braces and Aligners. It’s the ultimate cosmetic solution for teeth correction. It has changed the life of many people.  A retainer is a must for Six Month Smiles.

Cosmetic dentistry is an art in itself and Dr. Kezian is a pioneer in the art of cosmetic dentistry specializing in this new technology called “Six month smiles” which is an alternative for traditional braces and aligners. By keeping updated with the latest technology in cosmetic dentistry Dr. Kezian and staff make life-changing cosmetic improvements in people’s lives and provide them the smile which they had lost.

Emergency Dentistry – Dealing With Sinus Infection

Monday, February 18th, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

Understanding If Your Aching Tooth Is a Dental Problem:

  • At times when you need emergency dentistry, the first thing you will inquire about is, does the pain have any relation to dental problems? The Doctor will ask you how often you brush your teeth, if you floss, rinse and take good care of your teeth regularly. Despite the fact that you may have a good hygiene regimen, you may experience toothache – This is what is referred to as sinus toothache.
  • The source of a sinus toothache is from a sinus infection. The pain that you experience is from the pressure exerted from the roots of your teeth. Sinus tooth ache might be tough to diagnose. However, Dr Kezian and staff members have all the required modernized equipment to make sure that you are not in pain any longer. The primary thing after diagnosis is that they assure you that the pain is not a dental origin as much as you might guess so from the severe throbbing.
  • Before the begging of any ailment, there are basic symptoms that you have to identify. The symptoms for the sinus infection include; fever, a stuffy nose and the common headache. At this point, you will want to see a dentist. Why not visit Dr. Kezian?  An expert in dental cure plus surgeries if necessary, this will stop the infection from spreading. Otherwise, the infection will spread to the cheek area. In turn, the infection will be pushed deeper by the mucus.

If you experience any of these symptoms, please contact Dr. Kezian and staff immediately to be examined. They will provide you with the appropriate medication and put you in early treatment to keep you away from ruthless infections.

Comparison between Sinus Infection and Painful Aches:

  • The link between painful sinus infections and tooth pain is caused by the maxillary sinuses. The maxillary is located at the chambers from the inside of your cheek bones. This location is close to you upper jaw. Once there has been accumulation of bacteria in the chambers, infections start to build up. Since this cavity does not drain, pressure will build up intensely. This pressure deepens into your cheeks, after which, the tooth and upper jaw too will be infected. The chance afterwards are that you will have to see an emergency dentistry if the pains subsists.

Dealing With Sinus Toothache:

  • The treatment for these infections comprises of painkillers to reduce tooth aches, antibiotics and decongestants to cure any related sinus troubles. As much as you think you feel better after a treatment, there are some symptoms that will persist. It takes up to one week for them to compeletely disappear and for you to feel normal again. This will highly rely on the level of infection that you were suffering from. The deeper the infection, the more time it takes to heal. And the quicker you see a physician, the sooner your chances of getting better.

Dr. Kezian advises that maintaining a healthy immune system is the one important step that you will need to take to avoid this misfortunate problem. Maintaining a healthy immune system does not only mean that you should eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water, but also about maintaining maximum dental hygiene. The little bacteria that mount up are the ones which will drive you to see an emergency dentist in Los Angeles.

Alzheimer and Tooth Loss: Prolong Your Memory with Healthy Teeth

Friday, February 15th, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

A new study proves that dementia and Alzheimer’s can be slowed with the proper care of the teeth, so instead of needing emergency dentistry in the future to protect your mind; begin today and prolong your memory. In the recent study of 4,200 people who were over the age of 65, there is a clear link established between healthy teeth and memory loss. This Japanese study showed that those who had more real teeth and did not have as many artificial ones were less likely to develop latter-life memory loss, dementia, and full blown Alzheimer’s.  Those who suffered from memory loss and dementia were usually those who rarely – or never – went to the Dentist. Dr. Kezian believes that it is important to understand the reasons behind this and to stop – or at the very least, slow down, memory loss. Due to this link between lack of natural teeth and memory loss; Dr. Kezian and staff believe that it is best to continue going to the Dentist annually, if memory loss is a worry of yours.

Why Is Memory Loss Connected To Lack Of Teeth?

  • The same inflammatory bacterium that causes damage to the teeth can enter the mind and cause memory loss and or full blown Alzheimer’s.
  • The loss of teeth can affect the over-all nutritional health of a person due to the lack of healthy nutrients.
  • When somebody loses teeth or does not have healthy teeth, the mouth may bleed, develop gum diseases, and become weak which will consequently affect the over-all health.

What Can Be Done?

  • If you have eroded or damaged teeth, you may need dental extractions. Although this will remove more teeth, it will stop the erosion from affecting other teeth which in turn will stop – or slow down – the process of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
  • Dr. Kezian recommends going to him or your local Dentist annually so that Dr. Kezian and staff or other dentistry professionals can catch any erosion or destruction. This is believed to slow down the process of Alzheimer’s later in life.

Your teeth are important and if you desire to keep a strong memory, you will want to take care of your teeth. The link between eroded teeth and Alzheimer’s is an important truth to know so that you do not allow time to go by without having dental appointments. When you attend your local Dentist’s office, s/he will find any potentially damaged or eroded teeth and will be able to perform emergency dentistry to help stop or slow down affects of Alzheimer’s.

By continually staying connected and understanding your teeth’s health, you are prolonging the onset of Alzheimer’s. If Alzheimer’s runs in your family or you already have a slight case of dementia, go to the Dentist and have a thorough examination. If your teeth can be fixed, it will only be a matter of time that you can see a difference in your memory. Do not allow the bacterial plaque to build up before it is too late.

So, whether you are young or old – remember, there is a constant link between healthy teeth and your memory. Your teeth and memory are functioning side-by-side and should be thorough examined at all times. If you have a history of bad teeth, talk to your Dentist about what can be done to slow down the process of erosion. S/he will have ideas for you and may potentially save your teeth. Do not allow too much time to go by. Dr. Kezian and staff will help you in the event of a need for emergency dentistry and will help you if you need dental extractions. Do not delay, your memory is waiting!

Oral Hygiene Your Door to Good Health

Friday, February 1st, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

Oral hygiene is very important as it keeps your mouth and teeth safe from dental problems. The majority of people take the importance of brushing and flossing daily for granted. What they do not understand is lack of proper dental hygiene has a powerful effect on your overall health. Neglecting your dental hygiene does not just cause sore teeth or bad breath, but can create all sorts of health problems including something more extreme like oral cancer. Oral health problems go undetected until there are acute symptoms such as pain and infection. Even with the best homecare, bacteria and food debris can remain in the mouth which later turn into plaque and create tartar. Recently, science has found that teeth problems are connected to cardiac disease, pneumonia, stroke and even problems during pregnancies. Dr. Kezian, a Los Angeles dentist, is a specialized doctor in oral health and has been treating and educating the public about the problems created by lack of proper oral health. Dr. Kezian and his staff keep updated with the latest advanced technology and methods to keep the mouth free from any dental problems.

Problems Related To Lack Of Oral Health:

  • Oral health, if not done properly, can affect your appearance and sense of well being. Tooth cavities and gum disease can lead to serious diabetes and respiratory problems. Bacteria formed due to plaque in the teeth can travel from the mouth to the lungs and create serious lung conditions. Diabetic patients are more prone to gum disease and run the risk of diabetic complications.
  • Pregnant women with poor oral health are at a higher risk of premature delivery and under weight babies than women with good oral health. Babies born prematurely run the risk of developmental complications and are at a higher risk of infant death. Poor oral health can affect your self-esteem, can create sleeping problems, and affect your ability to chew and digest food properly. It can also create behavioral and developmental problems in children. Pregnant women should visit their dentist in Los Angeles to keep their teeth and gums clean during pregnancy.
  • Amount of dietary consumption can also become a factor for teeth problems; sugar consumption creates enzymes and acid that destroy teeth and gums. At a time there are 10 to 15 billion bacteria inside the mouth which create plaque and weaken your teeth. Smoking is one of the biggest factors for gum disease and oral cancer.

Minimizing Your Oral Health Risk:

  • To maintain good oral health you should brush and floss on a daily basis, if not after every meal. You should use an antimicrobial to rinse your mouth to reduce bacteria. Proper eating habits should be maintained and smoking should be avoided at any cost. Even if you smoke you should visit your dentist in Los Angeles for a dental exam.
  • Pregnant women should eat healthy food and maintain good oral health. Children should be guided to brush their teeth after every meal. Regular dental checkups should be done every six months with you Los Angeles dentist.

Dr. Kezian has been treating oral health related problems and educating patients on oral hygiene. He conveys a message that a healthy mouth makes way for a healthy body. Dr. Kezian and his staff are on a mission to create awareness among people on the pros and cons of oral health.

A Happy Smile Is a Happy Heart

Friday, January 25th, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

Gum disease is a form of bacterial infection which affects the teeth, the bones in the mouth, and the gums – not only is it unsightly but it is thought to affect the heart. For quite some time, there has been a debate that occurs in the health community about whether diseases of your mouth and heart disease are related. Some heart experts believe that because of the bacteria in your mouth, you have a twice-higher chance of having a heart attack. However, the American Heart Association has recently announced that studies disprove the theory. As the debate continues, learning to take care of your teeth may keep any possible link from developing. Do not wait until the disease has developed or the A.H.A. has reached its decision; begin to focus on your mouth health now.

Dr. Kezian can provide the means to help you understand the connection between the two.

Connection:

  • A spokeswoman for the American Heart Association has said the following, “There are a lot of studies that suggest that oral health, and gum disease in particular, are related to serious conditions like heart disease.”
  • The connection lies in certain bacteria found in the blood stream that comes from the mouth.
  • Researchers suggest that by preventing gum disease and brushing your teeth with vigor; you can actually prevent heart disease. This is because the bacterium from your mouth gets washed away with teeth brushing.

Atherosclerosis

  • The connection between these two diseases lies within atherosclerosis; this is hardening of the arteries that causes heart disease. When your gums and teeth are infected, the dangerous bacterium travels into your blood stream and can cause a heart attack or problems with your heart.
  • Inflammation in your mouth can affect inflammation in other parts of your body; so when you have an infection in your mouth, your entire body is at risk. And, if your heart is weak already, this inflammation can further make your heart weaker.

It is better safe than sorry when it comes to your health – your mouth is worth being paid attention to. Gum disease should be immediately treated. Your heart – and your entire body – can be at stake if your gums and teeth are not taken care of properly.

Bettering Your Gums:

Dr. Kezian will give you particular ways in which you can strengthen and better your gums so that the disease will not occur – or re-occur.

  • He may encourage you to take Mastic Mouthwash which goes to the root of your system and will attract your white blood cells and they will invade against the army of plaque rising against you. Your teeth will remain healthy, your gums will strengthen, and gingivitis will be completely defeated within your mouth and gums. Your mouth will smell fresher, too.
  • Whether you have gingivitis or want to fight against all diseases that are found in the gum, you must make the first steps – thoroughly brushing your teeth and having an annual dentist appointment. Do not delay in making the appointment; your health is very important. Your heart needs you to make the first move; heart disease is linked to the diseases that are found in the gums – and although the American Heart Association debates it, you must not take any chances. Not only is your heart at risk but if you allow mouth diseases to continue, you will have a higher risk for COPD, dementia, and infertility.

Allow Dr. Kezian and staff to help you today and show you the best ways to combat diseases.

Oral Health (How It Affects You)

Friday, January 18th, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

The field of oral health is concerned with the care, treatment and prevention of oral diseases. It is a highly specialized field that is made up with the collective efforts of professionals, individuals and the government of nations encouraging proper oral practice. One of the most important indicators of the general health of a population is how much emphasis is placed on oral health and preventive dental service. Dr. Kezian is a renowned health professional who specializes in this field as a preventive dentist and advocates better health practices in theUnited   States of America and the world.

Oral Health:

  • Tooth decay is caused by the mineralization of food left in the mouth after eating. This food left in the mouth is then broken down by the actions of micro organisms to form acid. Oral infection can affect people of all races, social class, educational background and position. Many factors are responsible for dental diseases. Smoking and chewing tobacco has been proven to be the cause of many diseases that affect the mouth. Dr. Kezian and his staff have campaigned against the chewing of tobacco as an alternative to smoking. This is increasingly becoming the practice and norm by those populations dwelling in rural communities. Vomiting regularly has been strongly linked to causing oral damage.
  • So many diseases and ailments have been proven and believed to have their root cause in oral inflammation, infection and damage. Diseases such as bacterial pneumonia, heart attack and stroke, complications relating to diabetes, oral cancer, osteoporosis (disorder characterized by the dwindling of bone calcium level), oral diseases: cavities, gum disease, gingivitis, periodontal disease that can result in loss of teeth. This is easily prevented by the service of oral health professionals like Dr. Kezian
  • This is why individuals are advised to go see preventive dentist and oral health professionals like Dr. Kezian and his staff for regular check ups and advice.

TMD And Apnea:

  • Some sleeping disorders have been linked to tooth and oral damage; one example of which is TMD (Temporomandibular disorders). This disorder occurs as a result of having problems with the muscles, bones or joints in the jaw and face. There are no clear causes of TMD, it is generally agreed by experts and professionals that it is majorly caused by trauma to the head. Such trauma includes clenching of the teeth continuously for a long time, chewing gum excessively and traumas or blows to the head from accidents and even punches.. The symptoms of TMD include headache, lower jaw distortion,  chewing becomes difficult, earache and hearing loss, inability to open the mouth wide, sometimes neck and shoulder pain
  • ·         Apnea (obstructive sleep apnea O.B.A). This occurs when the tissues in the mouth and throat always collapse when an individual is sleeping. This can cause breathe loss thereby causing the individual to snore loudly. This affects the quality of relationships with their spouse. It is very discomforting because breathing becomes more difficult and with time stops as air cannot get through the barrier created. This can lead to high blood pressure and heart failure as the individual wakes up several times when they are sleeping just to allow in air

Dr Kezian and his staff can offer you professional help in dealing with these mouth related damages, disorders and conditions for better oral health.

Floss Your Teeth And Reduce Arthritis Risk!

Friday, January 11th, 2013

By Arthur Kezian

It may seem a little bit awkward and strange to many of you, but it is true and Dr. Kezian also believes in it. Scientists have found a correlation between Gum Disease (also known as Periodontal Disease) and bacteria found in the knees of Arthritis Patients. Patients of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis were used for research purposes. After the completion of research, scientists found the traces of gum bacteria in the knees of Arthritic patient. Research has proved that the bacteria found in the mouth of a gum disease patient is liable for the Arthritis of knees. This research has also added weight to the fact that poor oral hygiene means poor overall health.

The Connection between Gum Disease and Arthritis

The following correlation was found between Gum Disease and Arthritis during research:

  • Bacteria found in the mouth of a Periodontal Disease patient passed to the synovial fluid found around the kneecap of an Arthritic patient.
  • During the research, a DNA Analysis proved that that bacteria found in the synovial fluid was actually originated from the periodontal tissue.
  • People who are suffering from periodontitis (the severe stage of periodontal disease) have higher blood level of an antibody, which ultimately leads to a more damaging and severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Health Issues Which Have Been Linked To Gum Disease

Many other health conditions have also been linked to Gum disease. These issues include:

  • Heart Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke

However, a direct relationship between these issues and gum disease has not yet been found as it has been found between Arthritis and gum disease.

Can Good Dental Care Prevent Arthritis?

The answer in short is, for sure. During the research it was also observed that patients who were suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gum Disease both, were able to reduce their Arthritis to a reasonable level when they followed a good oral hygiene regimen. They were able to the following Arthritic problems to a noticeable amount:

  • Arthritic Joint Pain
  • Number of Swollen Joints
  • Degree of Morning Stiffness

So if you keep up with good habits of dental care, you may also get a noticeable relief in your Arthritic problems.

What Are The Symptoms Of Gum Disease?

Given below are some symptoms of Gum Disease:

  • Swollen, Red and Sensitive Gums
  • Bleeding (especially during brushing)
  • Loose teeth
  • Pus between gums and teeth
  • Bad Breath that is not going away

There are also some other symptoms of periodontal disease, for example: a change in the closing or fit of your teeth.

What Can I Do For Preventing Gum Disease?

It’s great if you are waking up before getting too late. If you follow some good practices, then you may surely get a good oral hygiene and it is not too difficult to prevent gum disease. Just follow some good oral health practices:

  • Brush your teeth regularly, at least twice a day.
  • Floss your teeth at night
  • Use an oral rinse.
  • Visit Dr. Kezian for regular dental care and checkups after every 6 months.

So this was just another reason for keeping your teeth healthy. Don’t compromise on your oral health otherwise it may be very costly for you. If you are not suffering from Periodontal Disease, then preventing it for future can help in reducing the risk of Arthritis. On the other hand, if you are suffering from Arthritis and Periodontal Disease both, then treating periodontal disease can be very helpful for Arthritis too. So for avoiding such a painful situation of Arthritis, please ensure a regular oral health checkup from Dr. Kezian.
