A lot of people have issues regarding their smiles. Some patients have over-bites or under-bites, some have misaligned teeth, some have teeth that don’t drop down, and some even have gaps in between their teeth. All these issues can be resolved by Invisalign, the newer alternative to metal braces. Invisalign includes different sets of clear aligners that, overtime, help straighten your teeth. If you have issues regarding your bite or your smile, consider getting Invisalign – the modern, unnoticeable way to change your smile around.

So what is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the name given to transparent, incremental aligners made out of clear plastic to adjust teeth. It is very hard to notice that Invisalign braces are being worn by someone. If you are someone who cares about aesthetics, then Invisalign is what you need. You don’t have to worry about having metal in your mouth or worry about food getting trapped between the braces because Invisalign is a tray system.

What is the Process?

First, a preliminary consultation is required from a trained dentist who will have the ability to check that you can be helped by these braces, whilst considering which treatment strategies offer the greatest results for you.

At the consultation session, your dentist will most likely take a Panoramic X-Ray of your jaw and teeth. This X-Ray will be analyzed to create an entirely unique set of trays specific to your bite. These braces are removable so that you can take them out while eating or drinking, but must put them on throughout the rest of the day for proper results. Your dentist places attachments on a few of your teeth where the Invisalign hooks onto and after the entire set is complete, those attachments are removed.

You will need to re-visit the dentist often because each aligner acts as an additional step in the alignment procedure. Every time your teeth shift a little, you need another set that will bring you closer to your desired smile. This is similar to regular braces as you would need to visit the dentist to have them tightened about every month.
